Well our aims are to help return democracy to the council chamber, where each elected councillor can have their say, an equal vote on all matters, full information on which to base their decision. They must at all times fairly represent the interest of their constituents. We will never have a party whip to tell them how they must vote.
Our Policy:- We have only one policy, that being our members “Must Put the interests of their ELECTORATE FIRST”
There must never be any party whip or other instrument to force individual members to follow any particular path or policy other than to support the independence of each individual member to act in the best interest of those who have elected them to office and in accordance with the individual members own conscience.
The Way Forward:-
“Our aim is to steadily and progressively work towards a change in the British political system, bringing about a return to the core rule of democracy”. The conventional system of governing is a cabinet system, whereby the council leader and a handful of hand-picked cabinet members decide everything. The decisions made by the cabinet cannot be changed regardless of any objection or obstruction employed by opposing councillors.
The Integrity UK Party supports a change back to the traditional, tried and tested system in which every elected councillor had an equal say and vote upon every decision.
We believe there should be no party whips or other means to prevent any councillor from doing their duty and voting in the best interest of those people who elected him or her to the important office of councillor; The same principles should apply to members of the British parliament, so that every member is free to vote in the best interest of their constituent.
